This paper m d y s e s the state-of-the-prcictice of sojtware cotnporients produced in strategic partnerships. We call this kind of business original software coniponent manufacturing (OCM), referring to the concept of origirial equipment niani$zctiiring (OEM) that is well known in other industries. The analysis is mostly based on irlforniatioti acquired from Internet in Fall 2000, dealing with OCM supplier-. brokering and buyer coinpanies. Based on the nnaljsis, the context of OCM is oirtlinrd and a suggestion ninde for fiirther K&D activities.
